BEHIND THE SHORTLIST
Good reasons.
The whole story.
CB Custom Woodworking, Eco Lips and Frontier Co-op: three approaches to thoughtful giving, connected to Iowa.
1 candidate still needs stronger independent user evidence. Read the sources, model scope and limitations below. Candidates are listed alphabetically. State connections do not imply local or US manufacture.
MEET THE CANDIDATEKITCHEN & COOKING
2026 CANDIDATECB Custom Woodworking
Reclaimed Cutting Board — Oak
Reuses oak from a named local demolition project in a durable kitchen board.
- The state connection
- The Shenandoah, Iowa maker identifies the reclaimed oak as timber from the town's demolished middle school.
- What to know
- Small-batch inventory is limited; confirm availability. Reclaimed provenance is maker-reported rather than independently audited.
WHAT USERS & REVIEWERS SAY Further review needed
Only maker/marketplace listings were found for the reclaimed-oak board, without a usable independent purchaser review.
Scope: Exact reclaimed-oak board.
Keep in mind: Do not infer customer attraction from local provenance, the availability of other boards, or a shop listing.

Research checked November 3, 2026. Reports are attributed, not independently authenticated. A few comments do not establish sales volume or a representative consensus.
Materials, origin & product documentation
Source-based research. No hands-on testing or whole-life environmental comparison by GreenerFriday. Confirm prices, stock and holiday delivery with the seller.
MEET THE CANDIDATEBEAUTY & PERSONAL CARE
2026 CANDIDATEEco Lips
Gold Organic Lip Balm — Plant Pod
The balm is offered in the company's plant-based Plant Pod tube, described as plastic-free, and uses organic ingredients.
- The state connection
- Manufactured in Cedar Rapids, Iowa using globally sourced ingredients.
- What to know
- This is not a refillable tube. Do not assume that plant-based packaging is accepted by local composting or recycling programs.
WHAT USERS & REVIEWERS SAY Multiple use reports
A lip-balm discussion specifically recommends Gold for a thick texture; an independent reviewer also praises moisture retention and low need to reapply.
Scope: Gold formula; the older review predates Plant Pod packaging.
Keep in mind: Small, self-selected feedback and an older review do not establish sales volume. Packaging experience cannot be inferred from the old formula review.

This specific cinnamon SKU is listed as Regenerative Organic Certified, with certification evidence available from the certifier.
- The state connection
- Frontier Co-op is headquartered in Norway, Iowa; this cinnamon is sourced from Sri Lanka.
- What to know
- The Iowa connection is the cooperative's headquarters, not cinnamon cultivation. Certification does not provide a product carbon comparison.
WHAT USERS & REVIEWERS SAY Some use evidence
Buyer reviews of Frontier organic Ceylon cinnamon describe repeat purchases and everyday use in baking and drinks.
Scope: Ceylon-cinnamon product family, with multiple package sizes pooled.
Keep in mind: iHerb pages combine variants; their large displayed review count must not be attributed to this 1.76 oz Regenerative Organic Certified SKU. Disregard medical claims in reviews.
