GREENERFRIDAY HOLIDAY GIFT AWARDS 2026
OHIO — THREE CANDIDATES

No winners have been selected. Public voting is separate from editorial evaluation.

Anchor Hocking — TrueSeal 4-Cup Round Glass Food Storage Container
Reusable glass food storage can replace disposable containers and wrapping when used repeatedly.
State connection: Glassmaking brand founded and manufacturing in Lancaster, Ohio.
Considerations: The lid is plastic; retailer stock and the current 4-cup SKU need checking. The official link is the manufacturer's product-range page.
User evidence: BuyItForLife and food-storage discussions recommend TrueSeal lids and describe switching to the range.
Scope: TrueSeal range; exact 4-cup round size not isolated
Limitations: Do not transfer a multi-piece-set review count or another lid design to this SKU.

Chagrin Valley Soap & Salve — Soapnuts Shampoo Bar
A solid shampoo format avoids a separate liquid-shampoo bottle and has a published ingredient list.
State connection: The maker states that products are made in its Cleveland, Ohio soap shop.
Considerations: Soap-based bars do not suit every hair type or water supply. Do not infer whole-product certification from organic ingredient wording.
User evidence: An independent retailer has a small set of reviews for the exact Soapnuts bar; an external personal-use review covers Chagrin Valley products.
Scope: Exact Soapnuts retailer listing plus brand-level review
Limitations: Only six retailer reviews observed. Soap-based hair products are highly dependent on hair and water; no universal performance claim.

Plaine Products — Shampoo
Aluminum bottles can be returned for washing and reuse; customers retain the pump.
State connection: Headquarters and bottle-return shop in Milford, in the Cincinnati area of Ohio.
Considerations: The system depends on returns and bottle condition; no claim that shipping or manufacture has zero impact.
User evidence: Independent owner discussions report sustained use and appreciation of the return system, with other users describing dryness or unsuitable hair results.
Scope: Shampoo family; formulas vary
Limitations: Mixed performance by hair type; recent specialized formulas must not inherit older reviews automatically.
