GREENERFRIDAY HOLIDAY GIFT AWARDS 2026
MICHIGAN — THREE CANDIDATES

No winners have been selected. Public voting is separate from editorial evaluation.

Pingree Detroit — Slim Wallet with RFID Blocking
Uses leather reclaimed from the Detroit automotive industry in a reusable wallet.
State connection: Made by Pingree's Detroit workshop.
Considerations: Animal leather; reclaimed surfaces and colors vary. No claim that every component is recycled.
User evidence: An owner recommends a Pingree wallet after five years of use; customer-review platforms contain a much broader history of purchases.
Scope: Wallet family, not conclusively the RFID Slim SKU.
Limitations: Some reviews criticise size, leather stiffness or service. The main Trustpilot pool is old and should not be treated as a current SKU rating.

Rebel Nell — Detroit Necklace | Silver
Repurposes fallen graffiti into the necklace's distinctive charm.
State connection: Rebel Nell was founded in Detroit and uses Detroit graffiti in this design.
Considerations: The repurposed material is the charm; no recycled-content percentage is assigned to the whole necklace.
User evidence: Buyers describe repeat jewelry purchases and successful gifts; negative feedback flags small pendants, chain quality and design-selection expectations.
Scope: Jewelry brand and assorted necklaces; not uniquely Detroit Necklace Silver.
Limitations: Trustpilot invites are used and products are pooled. Do not assign its aggregate to this necklace or hide size/chain concerns.

Woodward Throwbacks + Hiatus Detroit — Detroit Catchall
A useful catchall made from reclaimed screen-printed wood.
State connection: Handcrafted by Hiatus Detroit with reclaimed wood supplied by Woodward Throwbacks, which operates in Hamtramck, Michigan.
Considerations: Small-batch pieces differ in appearance; confirm the available design before ordering.
User evidence: Business reviews and design coverage exist, but no purchaser feedback for the Detroit Catchall collaboration was located.
Scope: Shop/furniture maker, not the catchall.
Limitations: A shop’s reputation cannot validate a small one-off collaboration. Need product-specific evidence or a replacement.
